Germany Home Football Shirt Fußball Trikot Maglia Maillot Camisa 2000 “GIOVANNI ELBER” Kids
As worn by Die Mannschaft at Euro 2000. It was an incredibly disappointing tournament for them as they finished bottom of their group and lost 1-0 to the old enemy, England. They had an ageing squad that was still reliant on the leadership of Lothar Matthäus and the industry of Thomas Haßler, with Bierhoff up front. However there were shoots of optimism in the form of young emerging stars Deissler and Michael Ballack. The print on the back is in reference to Brazil striker Giovanni Elber, who was being overlooked by his national side at the time, but starring for Bayern Munich around this time…I imagine the previous owner was a bit of a dreamer, and couldn’t hide how much he wished he could line out for his country of residence.
In Very Good vintage, worn condition, compared to similar shirts of this age. Does have some small, light marks and a pinhole, as pictured.
Size Youths or Kids Extra Large. Pit to pit is 53cm, and length from collar at neckline to hem is 67cm at the front and 71cm at the back.
