Description
Italy Home Football Shirt Maglia Trikot Camiseta Camisa Maillot 1988 1989 Diadora Giuseppe Bergomi
As worn by the likes of Maldini, Baresi, Vialli and Mancini during their unsuccessful Euro ‘88 campaign. Long serving defender Bergomi’s squad number “3” is on the back of this shirt. They used this template design from 1986 until 1991, with subtle changes. The order of the tricolour on the cuffs and collar were this way from 1986 until 1989, and then reversed for Italia ‘90. This long sleeve collar design with the heavier material was also used mostly around 1988. This is an original Japanese market shirt from the era. Japanese market shirts were shirts licensed for production by European companies like Adidas, Kappa and Ennerre, and in this case Diadora. They would usually do this only with the very big clubs and national teams, or teams that contained a very popular player (like Platini and France 1986, Zico and Brazil 1986 etc), and also shirts worn by teams who had won a major competition (like Argentina 1986, Holland 1988, and West Germany 1990).
In Very Good vintage, worn condition, compared to similar shirts of this age.
Size Adults Medium equivalent. Size label is faded. Pit to pit is 51.5cm, and length from collar at neckline to hem is 76cm at the front.
