Manchester United Away Football Shirt Maillot Trikot Maglia 1982 1983 1984 Paul McGrath
United followed up their excellent FA Cup success in 1982/83 by winning the Charity Shield, but could only manage fourth in the League and failed to advance beyond the semi finals of any of the cup competitions. They had a star studded squad including Moran, Wilkins, Whiteside, top scorer Stapleton and Mark Hughes. Paul McGrath was an emerging as a great defensive prospect, and his most used squad number “5” is on the back of this shirt in stunning adidas detail print. This print was added by the previous owner a few years ago. This is a Japanese market issue shirt from the era. Throughout the 1980’s and 1990’s, Europe based manufacturers like Umbro, adidas and Kappa licensed out production of certain kits (usually just the bigger clubs, or teams represented by iconic players) to Japanese based manufacturers, for sale on the Japanese market. These kits are highly collectible as they were not mass produced in the same quantities as the European market shirts. Some Japanese market shirts would differ slightly from the European market shirts.
In Excellent vintage, worn condition compared to similar shirts of this age.
Size Adults Medium equivalent from the era. Jaspo L, which was the Japanese market sizing system. Pit to pit is 49.5cm, and length from top of shoulder to hem is 72cm.
