Manchester United Away Football Shirt Maillot Trikot Maglia 1983 Bryan Robson
Very rare piece! United followed up their FA Cup success of the previous season by winning the Charity Shield, but could only manage fourth in the League and failed to advance beyond the semi finals of any of the cup competitions. They had a star studded squad including Moran and McGrath, Wilkins, Whiteside, top scorer Stapleton and Mark Hughes. Bryan Robson was a great source of goals and midfield creativity, and his squad number “7” is on the back of this shirt. This is a Japanese market issue shirt from the era. Throughout the 1980’s and 1990’s, Europe based manufacturers like Umbro, adidas and Kappa licensed out production of certain kits (usually just the bigger clubs, or teams represented by iconic players) to Japanese based manufacturers, for sale on the Japanese market. These kits are highly collectible as they were not mass produced in the same quantities as the European market shirts. Some Japanese market shirts would differ slightly from the European market shirts.
In Good vintage, worn condition compared to similar shirts of this age. Will present with general signs of wear as to be reasonably expected of a pre-worn, 40 year old shirt.
Size Adults Medium equivalent from the era. Jaspo M, which was Japanese market sizing from the era. Pit to pit is 52cm, and length from top of shoulder to hem is 68cm.
