Republic of Ireland Match Worn Home Football Shirt Trikot Maglia 1979 1980 1981 Frank Stapleton Don Givens
Absolutely stunning shirt worn by some of the greatest Irish players of all time, including Lawrenson, Brady, Stapleton and Moran. This is a match day shirt worn by a senior player for a senior international, but I have no definitive confirmation as to who or what game. The number “9” is stitched on the back, so I believe it was most likely Don Givens or Frank Stapleton, though squad numbers were fluid across the forward line at this time. I obtained two shirts from the same game, and I was advised they had been gifted to an adidas employee around 1979 after a senior international. O’Neills had links to adidas around this time from what I understand.
In Very Good vintage, worn condition, compared to similar shirts of this age. The O’Neills logo has faded, which is quite common with these shirts.
Size Adults Medium to Large equivalent, 40/42 on tag. Pit to pit is 53.5cm and length from collar neckline to hem is 72cm.
