As worn at the 1988 Olympics, which the Soviet Union won, defeating Romário’s Brazil in the final. This is an original Japanese market issue shirt from the era. Throughout the 1980’s and 1990’s, Europe based manufacturers like Umbro, adidas and Kappa licensed out production of certain kits (usually just the bigger clubs, or teams represented by iconic players) to Japanese based manufacturers, for sale on the Japanese market. These kits are highly collectible as they were not mass produced in the same quantities as the European market shirts, and they released some shirts that were not available on the UK, or European markets.
